2022 PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Make yourself aware of and seek to represent the values of the club – on and off the field.

  • Be humble in victory, be gracious in defeat – don’t be a bad loser.

  • Don’t be focussed totally on your self – be a team player. Be a team player on the field and a Club player off the field.

  • Respect opposition players  and referees with your words and actions.

  • Participate actively in positive communication – e.g. encourage your teammates, express thanks to referees and other people who help with arrangements throughout the club.

  • Don’t engage in negative communication – e.g. blasphemy, racist language or constant moaning about officials.

  • Try your hardest – be diligent in your preparations for each game - seek to play your best for your team and Club.

  • Be open to feedback from your coach – they are there to help you.

  • Verbal and physical abuse are not acceptable on or off the field.


2022 COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Seek to be an example in your leadership role – promote and embody the values of the Club.

  • Promote enjoyment of the game – don’t be too serious with your players.

  • Promote unity across the playing group – build a strong team and Club culture

  • Treat all players with the same respect regardless of their footballing ability – be positive, honest and encouraging in your communication with players.

  • Respect referees’ decisions – be in control of your emotions during a game.

  • ‘Protecting children is everyone’s business’ – please speak immediately to a KCSC Committee member or club official if you have any concerns about the safety and well-being of a child.

  • Keep informed about sound coaching principles – so that you can excel and improve in your role as a coach.

  • Follow medical advice when assessing when an injured player is ready to resume playing.


2022 PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Make yourself aware of the values of the club – and get right behind them.

  • ‘Protecting children is everyone’s business’ – please speak immediately to a KCSC Committee member or club official if you have any concerns about the safety and well-being of a child.

  • Support and encourage all volunteer coaches, team managers and others who serve throughout the club – be a servant yourself

  • Be positive in your communication – don’t criticise referees, officials or opposition players.

  • Look out for opportunities to serve within the club.

  • Teach your child to be a team player – and not just to focus on themselves.

  • Promote enjoyment of the game – don’t be too serious – it’s about your child having fun.

  • Encourage children to always play according to the rules.

  • Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or for being part of losing a game.

  • Remember children are involved in organised sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

  • Verbal and physical abuse are not acceptable on or off the field.
